Our Programs

Girls Inc. delivers life-changing programs that inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold. Research based curricula, delivered by trained professionals, equip girls to achieve academically; lead healthy and physically active lives; manage money; navigate media messages; and discover an interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. The network of local Girls Inc. nonprofit organizations
serves 150,000 girls ages 6 - 18 annually at over 1,400 sites in 350 cities across the United States and Canada. Learn more about our programs and advocacy at

Girls who participate in Girls Inc. programs:

  • Create meaningful, supportive peer groups that encourage female solidarity
  • Grow self-esteem that carries over to home, school, and the community
  • Develop sound decision-making and communication skills
  • Assert themselves as confident individuals throughout their lives
  • Build key leadership skills and strong work ethics

In-School Programs

Programs are offered in schools all across Leeds and Grenville, as part of the regular school day. Last year 18 schools from two local school boards partnered with Girls Inc. to offer students in their schools this opportunity. Girls Inc. Friendly PEERsuasion

The Girls Inc. Friendly PEERsuasion program consists of 10-1 hour sessions, delivered to groups of 10-25 Grade 5-8 and Grade 7-9 girls on a weekly basis. Fee $250.

This program has been correlated with the Ontario Curriculum and is being evaluated locally. The curriculum correlation and the evaluation results from the pilot sites are available upon request.

Girls Inc. Media and me

The Girls Inc. Media Literacy Program helps school-age girls recognize tools and techniques used to persuade media consumers, think critically about the media they consume and advocate for change in how the media represents girls and women.

This program consists of 8-1 hour sessions delivered to groups of 7-18 girls, ages 6-8, on a weekly basis. Fee $200.

Economic Literacy

The Girls Inc. Economic Literacy Program enhances girls’ financial competence and confidence, empowers girls to recognize early on that they can exercise control over their financial future, and promotes within girls a sense of economic justice.

This program consists of 10-1 hour sessions delivered to groups of up to 25 girls, ages 11-14, on a weekly basis. Fee $400


The Girls Inc. Equal Earners, Savvy Spenders helps girls learn broad financial and economic concepts, such as wants and needs, career development, banking skills, loan applications, credit cards, investment risks vs. return, consumer tips, media literacy, labour law, taxes and government services, philanthropy, global economics, and fitting a career into a full, well rounded life.

Equal Earners, Savvy Spenders consists of 10- 1 hour sessions, delivered to groups of 10-25 grade 7-9 girls on a weekly basis. Fee $400.


Project Bold

Through Girls Inc. Project BOLD®, girls learn skills and strategies to lead safer lives in their homes, in relationships, in their communities, and online. Girls learn specific self-defense techniques and how to seek out and talk to caring adults about personal and gender-based violence.

Be BOLD, for girls ages 6 to 8, builds girls’ skills and personal power for avoiding or dealing with hurtful or dangerous situations and assists them in identifying resources that contribute to their safety.

This program consists of 8-1 hour sessions delivered to groups of 7-18 girls on a weekly basis. Fee $200.

Living Safe & Strong
Living Safe & Strong, for girls ages 12 to 14, continues discussion of gender violence issues, reinforces and provides additional safety strategies and self-defense skills for teen girls, and introduces them to community experts and resources.

This program consists of 12-1 hour sessions delivered to groups of 10-25 girls on a weekly basis. Fee $300.

community based programs

Girls Inc. programming is offered in community spaces throughout
Leeds-Grenville, allowing close to 400 girls to participate in the Girls Inc. experience in their home community.  In the past programs have been offered in Athens, Brockville, Portland, Prescott, Kemptville, Lansdowne, Spencerville, Cardinal and Gananoque in two-day sessions. We offer regular programming geared to girls ages 6-13 years.

Operation SMART

Girls Inc. Operation SMART® develops girls’ enthusiasm for and skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through hands-on activities, girls explore, ask questions, persist, and solve problems. By interacting with women and men pursuing STEM careers, girls come to view these careers as exciting and realistic options for themselves.


Our workshops for girls in Grades 1-12 cover topics including, but not limited to, body image, stress, media literacy, healthy relationships, social aggression and so much more! Workshops are conducted by trained Girls Inc. staff with groups of 15-25 participants.Fee per workshop is $50. Call or email to register your group today!
